New UB president assumes office
Lawyer Victoriano Belarmino Tirol, Jr., executive vice president and chief operations officer of the University of Bohol, has formally assumed office as the new president of this institution vice his elder brother Atty. David B. Tirol.
As a lawyer and educator by profession, Atty. Tirol Jr. served for many years as schools division superintendent and regional director of the Department of Education until his retirement. During his incumbency as National President of the Philippine Public School Teacher, Employees Association (PPSTEA) Tirol, Jr. initiated the Magna Carta for Public Schools.
In July 2009, Tirol was awarded as one of The Outstanding Boholanos around the World (TOBAW 2009) in the field of education. In his desire to open more avenues for educational advancement, he founded Cristal e College in Panglao, Information Computer Institute Bohol and Galeria (a computer school) in Quezon City.
Atty. Tirol Jr. is the son of Atty. Victoriano D. Tirol Sr., first president of the first university in the province - University of Bohol (formerly Rafael Palma College).(L.A.Boncales)

Roa, Escobedo to lead SSG next academic year By: Abigail Villahermosa
Justin Paul Roa and Juvy Ann Escobedo, both incoming seniors will lead the Day High School Supreme Student Government next School Year, 2010-2011.
They won the recently concluded national elections held last February 26.
They are set to take oath early June this coming academic year to fully function as both governor and vice-governor of the department.

Elegant ladies and stunning gentlemen on their bib and tucker lined up at the Metro Centre Hotel last February 18, this year for the annual conduct of the Day High School Junior –Senior Promenade.
This notable social gathering is a significant affair where seniors hand over their legacies and responsibilities to the juniors.
The said activity was made even more colorful as it revolved around a modern concept, turning that event as one grand night for both seniors and juniors to carry in their hearts.
